On September 17, 2024 there was a partial eclipse of the moon visible from several U.S. states. I stepped outside to take a look skyward a few hours after dark, here in Massachusetts, and was greeted with a partially eclipsed moon slightly hidden by clouds and haze. I took several photos with my 300mm (450 equiv.) lens. After reducing the exposure repeatedly, and with some cropping and post-processing haze reduction, most of the images still turned out rather poorly. I decided the photo below was the best of the lot, and worth keeping, though only a small top portion of the moon was eclipsed at the time.
